The 2019 Vodafone Super Rugby season launches this weekend, and FOX SPORTS, on Foxtel, will show every game LIVE, with no ad-breaks during play and in HD and for the first time fans will also be able to watch games in 4K ultra high definition on Foxtel*.

Super Rugby returns with a 15-team, three conference model in 2019, with the Waratahs, Reds, Brumbies and Rebels all featuring in the Australian conference alongside Japan’s Sunwolves.

The 2019 competition will feature more Australian derbies, with local rivalries once again coming to the fore. Round 1 gets underway on Friday night (February 15) with a mouth-watering double header on FOX SPORTS. The night kicks-off with the Chiefs taking on the Highlanders before an all-Australian derby between the Brumbies and Rebels.

Round 2 will be a history making round with the Brumbies v Cheifs game on Saturday, February 23 the first ever Super Rugby game broadcast in 4K ultra high definition.

FOX SPORTS will complement its unrivalled on-field coverage with the best entertainment and analysis with FOX SPORTS unveiling three new shows in 2019.

Host Lou Ransome will be joined by Drew Mitchell and Stephen Hoiles every Monday night at 7.30pm for Super Rugby Wrap.

Each week, the team will review the week’s biggest stories and offer their expert opinion and analysis, plus sit down with some of the biggest names in the game.  

Ransome will also host FOX SPORTS new Friday night line-up with Sean Maloney, Mitchell and Hoiles joining her for Kick-Off at 5pm and Kick-On following the game at 9.45pm.

Nick McArdle returns to the hosting chair for Super Saturday alongside an expert panel of “the Statesmen” featuring George Gregan, Tim Horan, Phil Kearns, Greg Martin and Rod Kafer.

The voice of Rugby, Greg Clark leads a team of Wallabies legends and rugby experts. Clark will be joined in commentary by Horan, Martin, Kafer, Hoiles, Mitchell and Gregan, alongside Rugby pundits Maloney, Andrew Swain and Natalie Yoannidis to guide viewers through the action each week.

FOX SPORTS will also produce a number of game is 4K ultra high definition which will air LIVE on Foxtel’s new 4K channel, Channel 444.

Australia’s only 24/7 sports news channel, FOX SPORTS News will be the place to stay across all the latest news and developments in the lead up to the weekend’s action with a full wrap up of all the results and highlights following each round.

The country’s number one multi-sport website Foxsports.com.au will be the online destination for fans with a Super Rugby Match Centre featuring live scores, stats and video highlights.
