This weekend thousands of Rugby fans are expected to flock to Moree, New South Wales to witness some of the games’ biggest names take on local legends at Weebolla Oval.

Both the Classic Wallabies and Classic Wallaroos will square off against local teams who will have months of pre-season training under their belts.

The Classics will open the gates to the public at 12:00pm and run free junior clinics for hundreds of kids aged 8 to 13.

The Classic Wallaroos will then take centre stage against the Central North Women's side in a game of Rugby 10s. The squad will feature 13 former Wallaroos including Selena Worsley, Vanessa Bradley and Pearl Palaialii.

Classic Wallaroos Captain Selena Worsley said she cannot wait to get back on the field wearing the green and gold.

“We’ve heard the Central North girls are a strong team and we’re very excited to play a part in showcasing the strength of women’s country footy,” said Worsley.

Soon after a star-studded line up of former Wallabies including Lote Tuqiri, Radike Samo, Justin Harrison and Mat Rogers will take on the Central North Barbarians. Moree local Brian Mansfield who last played for the Qantas Wallabies in 1975 will pull on the boots one last time in front of his adoring home-town crowd.

Classic Wallabies General Manager Justin Harrison said: ''The matches are always a lot of fun, but those competitive instincts tend to come back pretty hard, no matter how long you’ve been out of the game.

“The Central North boys are widely recognised as a very strong side so we’re expecting a good show from them,” said Harrison.

After the on-field action wraps up, the off-field entertainment kicks off with live music and fundraising auctions to support local clubs.
