Queensland Women will meet NSW Waratahs Women in a Grand Final re-match after defeating Brumbies Women 39 to 10 in the Playoff match at Ballymore Stadium in Brisbane today.

Queensland Women will travel to Sydney later this week for the blockbuster clash to be played at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday 7 April, kicking off at 4.30pm AEDT.

Fans will be able to see Buildcorp Wallaroos stars square off against each other as the likes of Grace Hamilton, Emily Chancellor and Mahalia Murphy from NSW stare down Queensland’s Kiri Lingman, Millie Boyle and Cobie-Jane Morgan in a battle for the ultimate prize in women’s XVs Rugby.

The two sides played out an epic decider in the inaugural Grand Final last year, which was won on a 92nd minute penalty kick from Ash Hewson in golden point extra time sealing a now famous 16-13 victory for NSW over their Queensland rivals.

The two rivals met at Leichhardt Oval earlier this month where NSW Women prevailed in a thriller 15-12 and are yet to lose a game in two seasons of Buildcorp Super W.

With family friendly ticket prices of kids under 16 free, $5.00 for concessions and $10.00 for adults, will make for an enjoyable afternoon of Rugby at Leichhardt Oval.

Super Rugby Members from the NSW Waratahs and St.George Queensland Reds can present their membership pass at the gates for $5.00 entry.

For those who can’t make it to Leichhardt Oval the match will also be broadcast LIVE on FOX SPORTS, Kayo Sports, RUGBY.com.au and on radio through ABC Grandstand digital and RUGBY.com.au Radio allowing fans from across Australia to be able to catch all the action.

Rugby Australia Chief Executive, Raelene Castle said: “On behalf of Rugby Australia I’d like to congratulate both Queensland Women and the NSW Waratahs Women on making the Buildcorp Super W Grand Final for a second consecutive year.

“The rivalry between the two teams has grown with every match they’ve played in this competition and fans can expect another close, and fierce, battle at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.

“I’d also like to commend Brumbies Women, Rugby WA Women and Melbourne Rebels Women for their seasons. All three sides improved greatly as the competition rolled on and reinforced that the future is very bright for Buildcorp Super W.”

Buildcorp Principal, Josephine Sukkar AM said: “Buildcorp is proud to support this competition that empowers women with opportunities to build an elite Rugby career.

“The calibre of the women’s Rugby game is increasing rapidly, and audiences are telling us they love watching these athletes in action in the Buildcorp Super W.

“The second season has also provided important match experience for players to hone their skills ahead of the Buildcorp Wallaroos tests against Japan in July.

“On behalf of Buildcorp we congratulate both teams on making it to the final and encourage everyone to experience it first hand at Leichhardt Oval this weekend.”

The Buildcorp Wallaroos Squad to face Japan in July will be announced after the Buildcorp Super W Final.
